We got up early on Tuesday our fourth day. We were on the road early. It was 39 degrees in Bozeman where we were staying. The weather was drizzly and overcast with slight rain. We didn’t stop at any interesting spots. Bev took pictures from the RV and I took some from the rest area information signs. We drove to Lethbridge Alberta and we are staying in a KOA that seems very nice. We pick up Janet and Pete tomorrow at 1:00 in Calgary. Enclosed are some pictures from today and from the past.

Bev wanted me to publish the photo of the Badlands park description but I couldn’t get it to the right place. You should know that it’s 244,000 acres.

We got off earlier and better on the third day. We drove from Gillette with less wind. We drove through the high plains and they were not very scenic. We started to get to the mountains and the scenery was better. We saw the Yellowstone river and took a couple of pictures. We couldn’t take good photos from the vehicle because of the overhang and the mirrors. We stopped at the little big horn national monument but it was closed. Yesterday we tried to go to the minuteman misspellings site but it was closed also. Marsha Schearer recommended a RV park in Bozeman and we’re staying there tonight. It’s v nice and has good Wi-Fi. Not many pictures from today. On through Great Falls tomorrow.

We spent too long at McDonald’s struggling with this blog. Once on the road we quickly learned how much the wind affects RVs! We were going west and the wind was out of the south with gusts to 30-35 miles per hour. Going slower was helpful but it was still a challenging experience. We stopped at Wall and drove by Wall drug. It seemed to be the same huge tourist attraction that it was years ago when we were there. We didn’t go in so we are not sure.

We decided we should go on the badlands scenic route even though we declined it on the east end when we drove by it. Going back east was well worth it. The rock formations were amazing.

Then we stopped at the Vore buffalo jump. It was discovered when they were building I 90. It dates back to 1500 and was used to 1800. There a lot of buffalo jumps but it was interesting to see one that had been confirmed and excavated y Archeologists.

We spent the night in Gillette Wyoming. Heading out towards Great Falls Montana.
