I have not had Wi-Fi for 3 days. To catch up we have been busy and having a good time. We stayed near Calgary Wednesday with Janet and Pete. We woke up and the land electric line was not working. We went to town and ended up having breakfast in a nice little restaurant. We then drove to Banff. We walked around the town and did minor shopping. We rode the gondola up the mountain. There were tremendous views. Everyone says that Banff is beautiful but it Todsurprised me just how beautiful it is. Then on to Lake Louise. It was still frozen over so it was not that special. We drove to the ice fields highway. Once more amazing beauty. We “dry camped” in a lot for day trips to the Athabaska glacier. There were no services and there was only one other RV there.

The next morning after a walk to the glacier we drove to Jasper. There was a huge fire last year. Both sides of the road were burned. It consumed 130 square miles and burned the houses of 20,000 people in the town. We spent the night in Grand Prairie, Alberta. We were assured that the Wi-Fi worked but it didn’t.

Today we drove to Dawson Creek and started on the Alaska highway. We are staying in Fort Nelson at a very nice RV park. The scenery has changed dramatically since Calgary. The mountains of Banff. The glaciers and mountains of the Ice Fields highway. The burnt trees near Jasper. The return to agriculture near Grand Prairie then to vast forests. Some evergreen, some aspen and some mixed.

I will post several photos from the last few days.
